Boundless Expression…On Cue. In Rhythm. Well Spoken.

A blog about inspiring creativity in a new Language and Performing Arts Center

Wright Stuff rolling toward rummage sale

_mg_1305.jpgThe CWA Parent Association is hard at work preparing for the 2008 Wright Stuff Rummage Sale.  The sale will support construction of the Language and Performing Arts Center.  Kari Whitney offers this update from the Wright Stuff farmhouse.

We had over a dozen volunteers at the farmhouse this week and we enjoyed the usual treasure hunt through a receiving room full of contributions. Laura D. priced office supplies. Eve counted puzzle pieces. Liz B. tested LeapPads. Katherine sorted children’s clothing. Michelle bundled women’s shoes. Charlotte sorted hats and purses. Laura G. picked through Christmas ornaments. Pam orchestrated rummage logistics. Tanya collected mixing bowls. Jessica packed historical novels. Carolina evaluated vintage objects. Marie W. measured sheets and curtains. Carol and her niece tested electronics. Sue priced pet accessories. I hung brand-new summer clothing.

It sounds and looks like a well-functioning beehive. It is! And there’s room for more worker-bees! We have sorted knick-knacks that simply need stickers and boxes. The clothing rooms welcome you to fold tee-shirts and pants. The sorted books can easily be boxed. Volunteers with physical aspirations are encouraged to help stow items in the warehouse. There’s a job to suit every talent. Come and join the fun any Wednesday!

A few of this week’s treasures:
• Island Princess Barbie “Getting Ready With Tallulah” playset (new in box!)
• 5’ artificial ficus tree
• Vintage breathing apparatus storage trunk
• New Hannah Andersson women’s tee
• Children’s craft kits
• Disposable hand warmers
• Unburned candles
