Send the band to Disneyland

Musicians in the Upper School are becoming entrepreneurs this year as they raise funds for the band’s first out-of-state trip in at least nine years.  The 23-member CWA Symphonic Band, part of the Upper School’s instrumental music program, is planning to travel to Anaheim, California, in April to perform at the Heritage Music Festival at Disneyland.

Alum wins Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race

scott-griffin.jpgCharles Wright alum Scott Griffin ’79 has won the first Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race in 160 years.  Griffin rode 515 miles from Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Independence, Missouri, in five days and 15 hours.  More than 60 riders started the race, but Griffin was one of only eight to finish.  He rode seven to 12 hours each day and kept his weight off his horse by standing in the stirrups.

Soccer team faces state champs tonight

tnt.gifThe Charles Wright girls’ soccer team has a big game tonight at Seattle Christian. Their opponents have won eight state championships in 13 years. Wright Stuff sells new stuff too

This week in sports

dsc_0037_edited.jpgThe varsity boys’ tennis and girls’ soccer teams continued their undefeated seasons this week. The soccer team has a season record of five wins and one tie, and has out scored opponents 15-1. The tennis team has won eight consecutive matches while dropping only one individual match. The junior varsity volleyball team also picked up a win.

CWA goes deeper with Chapel Home
