Rob Camner: CWA forms new partnership

rob_camner-1.jpgCharles Wright is forming a partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. Initially, this partnership will involve two strands: collaborating on community service opportunities and working together to bring high financial need students to the school. Support for this collaboration is being provided by a generous gift to the school’s endowment from the Gary E. Legends of the third grade mind

sailboats-1.jpgCharles Wright third graders have been spending their time somewhere in the vast expanse between history and tall tales.  They emerged with a remarkable set of legends, featuring all the necessary heroes, villains and supernatural events.  Now those legends are reaching an even wider audience as the authors are presenting their stories for all to read in comic book form on the internet.

One day with anyone in history

mr.jpgThe News Tribune posed a great question to its readers this week, and we thought we’d ask the faculty at Charles Wright the same question: If I could spend the day with anyone in history, who would it be?

“At this moment, I would like to spend an entire day alone with Marilynne Robinson, author of two novels, Housekeeping and Gilead, and an exceptional collection of essays, The Death of Adam.  She is among a few prose writers alive today whose sentences have a way of taking my breath away.”
