Basketball teams off to a strong start on the long road to state

Charles Wright’s boys basketball team wasn’t expected to win the league championship last year but they put together a 22-6 season and won the state championship anyway. Today the News Tribune predicted they’ll finish third in the league this year behind expected state championship contenders Vashon and Cascade Christian. With that sort of competition in their own league, the Tarriers will have to work hard to make it back to the state tournament in Yakima, but exceeding expectations is quickly becoming a Charles Wright tradition and one the girls squad is clearly hoping to emulate.
