7:03pm: Post season competition has a way of bringing out unexpected talent at Charles Wright and even before tip off fans got a bit of a surprise when Middle School Spanish teacher Senora Williams sang the National Anthem.  So what can we expect this quarter?  The Tarriers have played well in the first quarter throughout the season.  They’ve outscored their opponents 214 to 177.  The Cardinals, by comparison, have been outscored 217-175.  At the end of the first quarters of the two previous CWA vs Orting games, CWA trailed 8-7 and led 13-10.  Cardinals grabbed the jump and here we go..

6:49pm: The Tarriers are in the Dome!  Charles Wright’s boys basketball team is warming up for their first post-season game of the season.  In just over 10 minutes they’ll tip off against Orting.  The Tarriers ended their season with a 7-5 conference schedule.  The Cardinals wound up 4-8.  Both teams were beaten by Vashon and Cascade Christian on two occasions and each dropped a game to Life Christian.  The differences in the two teams’ records are the two games in which CWA faced Orting.  On Monday, December 15, CWA beat Orting 44-33 on their home court.  On Friday, January 23, CWA traveled to Orting.  Senior CJ Dale hit a two-point buzzer beater to win the game for the Tarriers, 56-54.  Can CWA go three for three against the Cardinals?  Stay tuned..

1:44pm: We’re going to try something new today.  For the first time, we’ll cover a CWA event live on the internet.  The varsity boys basketball team will play their first post-season game of the year tonight at 7pm in the Tarrier Dome against Orting.  With the help of the school’s tech team, we’re going to report live on the blog from the game.  If you’re in town, please come.  We’re expecting a smaller crowd than usual with many students and faculty out of town for Winterim.  If you can’t make it to the game, bookmark this page and check back for updates beginning at 7pm.
