You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown coming to CWA

You're a Good Man Charlie Brown“Happiness is morning and evening, daytime and nighttime too” in CWA’s new Donn Laughlin Theater.  Students are preparing for the biggest production yet in the new Language and Performing Arts Center and CWA’s first dinner theater show.  Nearly 20 percent of the Upper School’s student body is involved in the production as cast, crew and pit.  

Tickets are now on sale for the Charles Wright Player’s dinner theater presentation of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.  The musical opens with a sold-out show on Thursday, Feb 4, but tickets are available for the performances Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6.  All performances begin at 6:30pm.

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a comedy with music and lyrics by Clark Gesner, based on Charles Schultz’ Peanuts comic strip.   The show originally opened on Broadway in 1971 and was revived in 1999.  At Charles Wright, Alex Martin will star in the role of Charlie Brown.  Abby Holmes will play Lucy.  Alex Coddington will bring the character of Linus to life.  Schroeder will be played by Tim Chang.  Paige Henderson will play Patty.  Harrison Salton rounds out the cast leads as Snoopy.

The chorus will include: Anna Block-Gallegos, Rebecca Bonner, Lauren Dudley, Bryan Gula, Emily Harper, Dana Johnson, Megan Konrad, Karolina Koperwas, Diane Lawrence, Brendan Rome, Valerie Rutan, Toby Shorin, Tana Watanabe, Michael Watkins, Ashley Williams and Jens Winship.

Susan Blyler is the show’s stage manager.  She’s working closely with John Forier, CWA’s resident Drama Guy.  Another 24 students are working on the crew and 11 are in the pit.

Tickets for dinner and the show are $20. Students pay $10. Guests will be seated at tables of ten so you may want to get a few friends and family members together and reserve a whole table, but be prepared to provide those names when you make your reservation.

There are also some festival style seats, which do not include dinner, available for $7 (students $5). Most of Saturday’s dinner tickets will be sold to Upper School students, but some festival seats will be available.
