Post-apocalyptic superhero musical set to open at CWA

The cast, crew and pit of CWA’s winter theater production and making final preparations to take the stage this weekend as they present Starmites, a post-apocalyptic superhero musical. Shows are scheduled for Thursday, February 9, through Saturday, February 11, at 7:30pm in the Donn Laughlin Theater. Tickets are $5 for students, faculty and staff, and $10 for general admission. Seats can be reserved in advance with Phyllis Kriese at 253.620.8300.

Faculty and staff members John Forier, Rafe Wadleigh, David Bishop, Mike Moffitt, Heidi Huckins and Dylan Twiner have played key roles in helping the students produce the show. They faced some unusual challenges this year including an untimely three-day school closure due to bad weather and power outage. None the less, they have persevered and are eagerly preparing for opening night.

The Arts Guild will be serving a very special cake during intermission. Some preparation and assembly is necessary. Please contact Laura Giddings if you can help out – lgiddings446@gmail.com or 253-988-6838. Parent volunteers will be holding a baking party on Wednesday, February 8, from 6-8pm in the Language and Performing Arts kitchen. Giddings requests that volunteers bring cake pans, spatulas, cooling racks, and finger foods to nibble on during the baking party.

Volunteers are also needed to help assemble and serve on show nights. Contact Giddings about this as well.
