CWA mourns the loss of Headmaster Bob Minnerly

minnerly sizedThis evening CWA Headmaster Rob Camner emailed faculty, staff and board members to share the sad news that Bob Minnerly, his predecessor, passed away today.  Minnerly served as CWA’s Headmaster from 1986 to 1996.

Auction fund-a-need dedicates Janes Landing

janes320CWA’s gala fundraising event, the annual Charles Wright Spirit Auction, was held last weekend in the Dome.  The “Get Wild About CWA” theme was almost upstaged when a transformer blew down the street from the school taking all the lights on campus with it, but the power was restored, bidding resumed, and more than 500 happy guests went home with a great story as one of their auction prizes. CWA hosts big sale this weekend

Update: the 2009 Wright Stuff Rummage Sale was a great success.  The Parent Association raised about $50,000 for the Language and Performing Arts Center.  Many thanks to all those who helped make the event such as success!  The organizers of the 2010 sale will begin excepting donations down at the farm house in January. CWA Arts Guild a new way to get involved

Passtempo surpasses all expectations

On Saturday, September 12, two sell-out crowds of students, parents, alums, teachers and many more friends packed the Donn Laughlin Theater to watch the very first show produced in the new Language and Performing Arts Center.  Laughlin himself was on hand to cut the ribbon and he and his wife watched from the front row. Celebrating Sam

Charles Wright Academy will celebrate the life of Sam Brown, CWA’s founder, lifetime trustee and friend, and the immeasurable blessings both Sam and his life wife, Nathalie, gave to the school’s community at a memorial service in the Dome on Sunday, March 8 at 2pm.  All are welcome to attend.  The school has also created a few new webpages to remember Sam and Nathalie.  Click here to visit those pages.
